St. Joseph, Missouri Marathon
The fourth annual St. Joseph, Missouri Marathon is scheduled for a Saturday in September 2026. It is presented by Gray Manufacturing. The start and finish for all events is behind Civic Center Park in downtown St. Joseph.
The event offers five distances:
- Full marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Marathon relay (five-person teams)
The full and half marathon routes are USATF certified, meaning they can be used for Boston Marathon qualification. The course showcases St. Joseph's landmarks and historic parkway system. There is a six-hour time limit to complete the marathon.
Age requirements state participants must be 16 for the full marathon and relay, and 14 for the half marathon. There is no age requirement for the 10K or 5K. Pacers for the full and half marathon are provided in partnership with Runners Edge KC. Registration opens in late January and closes the day before the race. Participants receive a branded shirt, towel, finisher's medal, swag bag, race bib, and timing chip. A post-race event features a complimentary beer and tenderloin for runners, along with live music.
The event is hosted by the St. Joseph Sports Commission in partnership with the Junior League of St. Joseph. Proceeds support their community programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
