Holcomb Valley Trail Run - Big Bear Peaks & Pines, June 12 to 14, 2026
The Holcomb Valley Trail Run takes place in Big Bear Lake, California as part of the Big Bear Peaks and Pines weekend. The event includes a new three day stage race presented in a TransRockies style and single day race options across the valley trails.
Distances offered include:
- Vertical Stage Full
- Vertical Stage Half
- 33 Mile
- 15 Mile
- 9 Mile
- 5 Mile
Elevation changes are significant and listed by course: the Vertical Stage full is about +1,300 ft and -1,300 ft, the Vertical Stage half is about +700 ft and -700 ft, the 33 Mile is about +4,400 ft and -4,400 ft, the 15 Mile is about +1,950 ft and -1,950 ft, the 9 Mile is about +1,100 ft and -1,100 ft, and the 5 Mile is about +560 ft and -560 ft. The 33 Mile race has a 10 hour limit; shorter distances have course closing times and interim cutoffs.
Course routes are subject to final approval by the US Forest Service and organizers note a potential change from the legacy Holcomb Valley course due to permitting. Registration opens January 28, 2026 with early pricing until March 1 and registration closes June 9, 2026. There are no refunds or transfers; rollovers for one day races are possible before April 1. Volunteers may earn race credits or future race entries. The event acknowledges the ancestral lands of the Serrano people, the Yuhaviatam.
