Event overview
The HogmanHoway 5K takes place on 31 December 2025 in Newcastle City Centre, with the start and finish at the Civic Centre. The event includes an elite 3-lap race with prizes for the top three men and women, plus a mass race open to participants aged 11 and older. Entries are limited for the inaugural year. Early-bird entry is listed at £19 until 31 October, with a standard price of £22 from 1 November; a £2 discount for UKA club members is applied at checkout. Entry closes at midnight on 29 December or when entries sell out, and there are no on-the-day entries.
Route, facilities and logistics
The course is a flat, closed-road route around Newcastle City Centre. Public roads on the route will be closed for the duration of the event, and course signage and marshals will be present at key junctions. The event is chip-timed; results are sent by text and published online. Event facilities include baggage storage, toilets, indoor event space, and refreshments; water is available at the finish. Runners receive a special edition medal, a goody bag and a limited-edition event buff. Race packs and timing chips are posted to UK residents in advance; transfers are permitted via the official window until 2 December.
