The Hobble Creek Half Marathon is a USATF-certified, chip-timed half marathon covering 13.1 miles on a primarily downhill course. The course features a total elevation drop of 1,253 ft and includes canyon road sections, a bike path segment, and paved trail connections through town.
The course is not closed to traffic; police will assist with traffic control and participants are expected to remain alert. Timing uses a rolling start and race results are posted in real time at the results trailer and later made available online. Top overall finishers and age-group winners receive awards and cash prizes; all finishers receive a custom finisher medal.
Logistics include mandatory bus transportation to the start; private vehicles are not permitted up the canyon. Packet pickup takes place at Runners Corner (835 S 700 E, Orem) and requires ID for collection. Race bibs must be worn on the front and include a bottom tag used for backup timing; access to the finish area requires a bib. Drop bags are provided in the race packet and are dropped at the starting line trailer for retrieval by bib number at the finish.
Aid stations are located at miles 3, 6.5, 8, and 10 and offer water and porta-potties; electrolyte drink is available at miles 6.5, 8, and 10. Gels are not available on course; one energy gel or chew is included in the packet. Post-race offerings for runners include free food items, recovery drinks, and vendor services such as massage and recovery booths. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
