2026 Hinson Lake 24 Hour Ultra Classic
The event is the 20th annual 24-hour race held at Hinson Lake in Rockingham, North Carolina. The venue address is 152 Hinson Lake Road, Rockingham, NC 28379.
The course is a 1.5032-mile inner loop that circles the lake and is USATF certified (NC14103DF). The surface is a sand and gravel maintained trail through the woods. The route crosses more than 16 small wooden foot bridges, including a 300-foot bridge over the lake. The trail will be marked on race day and chem-lights will be used for night navigation.
Event formats:
- 24 Hour continuous running around the loop
- 100/K distance
Timing and participant rules are electronic. All participants receive a bib/chip that must be worn at all times to ensure laps and splits are recorded. There is a chute for runners only; participants taking breaks are asked to avoid the lap counting area. All pacers must be registered entrants to help prevent overcrowding on the trail.
Parking along the entrance road is restricted to the east side to allow emergency access. The lodge parking is limited and first come first serve. Additional parking options include the South parking lot accessed from Crow Run, both sides of Crow Run, and the Moose Lodge on Crow Run where RV camping spaces are available free with donations accepted. Participants are advised to lock vehicles and not leave valuables in plain sight.
The event is USATF sanctioned. Awards are given for overall first place male and female in the 24 Hour and 100/K, with equivalent awards for MTC members, and all participants surpassing 100/K receive a 100/K medal. Entries are non transferrable, non refundable, and there are no deferrals. Participant cut off is 500; a wait list is used and activated entries have 48 hours to complete registration.
