The 6th Annual Mangum Marathon & 1/2 Marathon takes place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, near Ellerbe, North Carolina.

Both events are officially timed. The marathon has a 7-hour time limit and the half-marathon has a 5-hour time limit. Entry fees listed are $45 for the marathon and $35 for the half-marathon. Registration closes January 9, 2026. All finishers receive a finisher medal; overall male and female winners receive custom engraved tumblers. Awards are given to overall male/female and top 3 male/female in age groups 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Participants are provided a long-sleeve premium technical shirt; shirts and medals are not guaranteed on race day for registrations after January 6 but will be available after the race (one week processing).
Course and logistics
The race start and finish are at the Dog Pen outside Ellerbe. The closest address is 869 Holly Grove Church Rd., Ellerbe, NC 28338, at the intersection of Carthage Creek Road and Holly Grove Church Road in Richmond County. The marathon course includes an initial 2-mile segment, a right turn, an 11.1-mile out-and-back segment, and a return to the finish; the course includes a climb near Bethel Church at about the 22-mile mark. The half-marathon turns around at the 6.55-mile mark and returns to the Dog Pen. Course support is described as minimal. Bottled water drop spots are placed throughout the course, with two manned water stops (at about 6.5 miles and at the half turnaround). A portable toilet will be provided.
