Event overview
The Cheraw 24 Hour is a timed trail running event held at Cheraw State Park in Cheraw, SC as part of the Mountaineer Rumble series. The race uses a 24-hour time limit. The event dates span February 21-22, 2026. Registration closes on February 19.
Course and support
The course is a loop on the Turkey Oak Trail - Outer Loop measuring 4.3 miles with about 190 feet of elevation gain. The trail surface is described as smooth and generally flat. Vegetation along the route includes pine, turkey oak, blackjack oak, and hickory trees. Wildlife that can be seen from the trail includes red-cockaded woodpeckers, deer, and various bird species. Runners may complete as many loops as they choose during the 24-hour period.
An aid station and drop bag area are located at the completion of each loop. Typical ultra race foods will be available at the start/finish aid station. Foods listed for the event include burgers, pizza, hot dogs, pasta, bacon, and pancakes served throughout the event.
Awards and logistics
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Runners who complete 100 or more miles receive a custom 100-mile buckle. A limited number of campsites are available through registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
