Cheraw 24 Hour
The Cheraw 24 Hour is a timed trail running event held at Cheraw State Park in Cheraw, SC on February 20, 2027. The race uses the Turkey Oak Trail Outer Loop, a 4.3 mile loop with about 190 feet of elevation gain that runners repeat throughout the event.
The trail surface is smooth and the route is described as flat and fast. Vegetation along the course includes pine trees, turkey oaks, blackjack oaks, and hickories. Wildlife sightings reported on the route include red cockaded woodpeckers, deer, and a variety of birds. Runners may accumulate as many loops as they choose during the 24 hour event.
An aid station and drop bag area are located at the completion of each loop, providing access to race aid and personal gear without leaving the course. Typical ultra race snack foods are available at the start/finish aid station; hot food served throughout the event includes burgers, pizza, hot dogs, pasta, bacon, and pancakes.
Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers. Runners who complete 100 or more miles receive a custom design 100 mile buckle. Cabins and campsites are available through Cheraw State Park. The event is organized by Mountaineer Rumble Events and the stated purpose includes highlighting the park trail system and supporting park improvements.
