Event details
End Alzheimer’s 5K is part of the Purple Crusaders' 5th Annual Longest Day Walk fundraiser and a Pee Dee Grand Prix event. The event includes a 5K race; registration is required for race participants and walking is free. Donations are accepted for the Purple Crusaders, a nonprofit 501c3 organization serving the Cheraw and Chesterfield area, with proceeds supporting local initiatives to end Alzheimer’s.
Participants will receive a race shirt while supplies last. Awards for the 5K include top three males and top three females overall, plus top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Location and course
The event takes place at Arrowhead Park, 989 State Rd., Cheraw, SC 29520. A course map is available for the 5K route. The Purple Crusaders state their mission as advocating for families affected by Alzheimer’s by raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research.
