End Alzheimer's 5K
The Purple Crusaders present the 6th Annual Longest Day Walk with the END ALZHEIMER'S 5K as part of the Pee Dee Grand Prix on May 15, 2027 at Arrowhead Park, 200 Powe Street, Cheraw, SC 29520. The event combines a timed 5K race and a community walk. Registration is required for 5K participants; the walk is free and donations to the Purple Crusaders are accepted to support local initiatives for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The Purple Crusaders are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) serving the Cheraw and Chesterfield area.
Registration fees vary by date: $30 through April 25, $35 from April 26 to May 14, and $40 on event day. Shirts will be provided to participants who register by April 25; adult sizes S through XXL and youth sizes S through L are listed. Awards for the 5K use gun time and include overall male and female top three and top three in each age group. Age groups are 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
Packet pickup is at 200 Powe Street under the covered picnic table area with pickup times the afternoon before and the morning of the event. The course map is listed as coming soon. Strollers are welcome, listening to music while running is allowed, and pets are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
