About the race
The Hingham Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day 5K event held at Hingham High School, 17 Union Street, Hingham, MA. Proceeds benefit the Hingham High School Boys and Girls Cross-Country and Track & Field programs, with funds used for coaches salaries, meet timing, additional equipment and related expenses. The event offers in person and virtual participation options, including a youth entry category. Registration opens August 31 and in person registration closes November 18; the virtual option closes later.
Fees vary by category and include separate rates for the youth and virtual entries. An additional $5 fee applies to registrants who enter on or after November 18. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 1-4, 5-9, 10-13, 14-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Bib and shirt pickup is at the Hingham High School Cafeteria, 17 Union Street, with scheduled pickup times on the days before and the morning of the event. The first 2,000 registrants receive a complimentary unisex shirt; sizes are not guaranteed and may run slightly large. Walkers are welcome, running strollers should start toward the back, and dogs are not allowed on the race course.
