42nd Annual Hilton Head Firecracker 5K
The Hilton Head Firecracker 5K is a holiday tradition held at Honey Horn Park on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The event takes place on a historic 68-acre property that features live oaks, Spanish moss, and salt marshes. The race proceeds benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Participants can choose from the following events:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run
The 5K course is flat and consists of a mix of paved roads and gravel paths. It passes through the grounds of the Coastal Discovery Museum, offering runners views of local greenery and wildlife. The finish line is located near the park pavilion.
Registered participants receive a commemorative technical T-shirt, and finisher medals are provided to all participants, with a guaranteed medal for the first 750 people registered. Post-race activities at the park include music and local food trucks. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in each age group. Recognition is also given to the top three dog finishers and the participant with the most patriotic costume.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event at a local running store and on the morning of the race at the park. There is no registration available on the day of the race. Parking is provided on-site at Honey Horn Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
