Hilton Head Firecracker 5K Presented by Hoka
The Hilton Head Firecracker 5K Presented by Hoka is a community Fourth of July event held at Honey Horn Park on Hilton Head Island. The event is the 42nd annual running of the Firecracker 5K and supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The main event is a chip timed 5K that starts and finishes at Honey Horn Plantation. The course runs on a mix of paved roads and gravel paths through park grounds, with largely flat terrain and shaded areas beneath live oaks. The finish area is located near the park pavilion and is paired with post‑race festivities including food trucks, music, and an awards ceremony.
Participant amenities noted for the event include a commemorative technical T shirt for participants, finisher medals for 5K finishers, and awards for top finishers in multiple age groups. There is also a special award for the most patriotic costume. A free kids Firecracker Fun Run of 400 meters is offered for children 8 and under, and a separate kids 5K for ages 12 and under includes a shirt and finisher medal.
