Hilton Head Firecracker 5K at Honey Horn Park
The Hilton Head Firecracker 5K is the 42nd annual 5K held at Honey Horn Park on Hilton Head Island on July 4, 2026. The route runs around the park grounds and combines paved roads and gravel paths on a generally flat course. The finish area is located near the park pavilion.
Proceeds for this edition benefit the Coastal Discovery Museum. The museum is based at Honey Horn and offers programs and exhibits focused on the Lowcountry's wildlife, history, art and culture.
Participant amenities and event features include finisher medals for the first 750 registered, a commemorative technical T-shirt or singlet for participants, food trucks, and music. Awards are given to top finishers overall and by age group, with additional recognition for the top three dog finishers and a special award for the most patriotic costume. A kids 1/4 mile fun run is scheduled as part of the event.
Packet pickup is available on July 3 at Palmetto Running Company in Shelter Cove Town Center, with late packet pickup on race day. Race day parking is available on site. No same day registration is offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
