Bluffton Independence Day 5K
The Bluffton Independence Day 5K is a community running event held as part of the town’s Independence Day celebration in Bluffton, South Carolina. Races take place in downtown parks referenced in event materials, including New Riverside Barn Park and Oyster Factory Park. The event includes multiple race options and family-oriented activities.
- 5K Run Walk with registration fee $35.
- Kids 5K (under 12) with registration fee $25.
- Kids Fun Run 400 m (8 and under) free.
After the races there is a post-race celebration featuring live music, food trucks, beer, a t-shirt cannon, and an awards ceremony. A Patriotic Costume Contest is planned with a gift card prize to a local restaurant. The event offers packet pickup the day before the race at New Riverside Red Barn Park. The first 400 registrants receive a race shirt.
The stroller- and dog-friendly 5K benefits the Mayor’s "Stay Safe, Bluffton!" campaign and provides student scholarships to promote safe driving in Bluffton and Beaufort County. Awards include the Mayor’s Cup for the top overall male and female with the trophy displayed at Bluffton Town Hall, plus custom medals for the top three in each age division and for the top three dogs.
