Bluffton Independence Day 5K
The Bluffton Independence Day 5K is scheduled for July 2, 2026 at The New Riverside Barn Park in Bluffton, SC. The event program includes multiple running opportunities and family-focused activities held as part of the town’s Independence Day celebration.
Distances offered include:
- 5K Run Walk
- Kids 5K under 12
- Kids Fun Run 400 m, ages 8 and under, free
The 5K is stroller- and dog-friendly and supports the Mayor’s “Stay Safe, Bluffton!” campaign. Proceeds provide student scholarships to promote safe driving in Bluffton and Beaufort County. Registration opens April 1, 2026; the main 5K registration closes May 31, 2026 and the kids events have separate closing dates.
Post-race activities include live music, food trucks, beer, a T-shirt cannon, and an awards ceremony. Awards include the Mayor’s Cup with the top overall male and female having their names engraved for display at Bluffton Town Hall, and custom medals for the top three in each age division and top three dogs. The first 400 registrants will receive a race shirt.
Packet pickup is scheduled for July 1, 2026 at New Riverside Red Barn Park. The event also notes an Independence Day pre-party and fireworks events in town the following day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
