Firecracker Run 5K
Help of Beaufort organizes an annual Firecracker 5K in downtown Beaufort, SC, on Bay Street and surrounding streets. The in-person course is USATF certified and uses gun time. The route starts and finishes at Freedom Mall, crosses Woods Memorial Bridge to Lady's Island, follows Meridian Road to Youmans Drive, then returns the same way.
Two participation options are offered:
- 5K (3.1 Miles) in-person
- 5K (3.1 Miles) virtual
Packet pickup is available at Grounded Running, 2139 Boundary Street, Ste 108, Beaufort, SC, on Friday, July 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. T-shirt distribution is at packet pickup or on race day; sizes are not guaranteed for registrations received after June 1. Virtual participants may request a mailed shirt for an additional $15 fee; organizers will make a best effort to mail shirts prior to the event for those requests.
Registration windows and fees are specified for each option. Registration and any shipping fees are not refundable. If an in-person race cannot be hosted, registrations will be transferred to the virtual format.
Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers and to the top two male and female finishers in each age division. Age categories include under 12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The event is pet and stroller friendly; flexi-type leashes are not allowed and pets should be on a standard 4-6 ft lead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
