2026 Hillbilly Half Race Series - Run for the Kids 5K 10K Half Marathon
The event takes place in Pikeville at Pikeville City Park, 178 College Street, Pikeville, KY 41501 on April 19, 2026. Multiple distances and non timed options are offered as part of the Hillbilly Days festival.

The half marathon route includes a 10K portion on pavement and sidewalks through downtown Pikeville and a remaining section that runs on wide trail paths that are paved or gravel. The trail segment has inclines but does not require hiking type terrain.
Each registered participant receives a t shirt or tank top and a Hillbilly family member medal; the 2026 medal represents the Hillbilly baby and continues a series of collectible medals. Timing uses chip technology with B tags attached to the back of bib numbers and results are available after the race at onsite kiosks or via event result displays.
Packet pickup location and time are to be announced. Race protocol requires official bibs worn at all times, following the designated course, and notes that runners walkers and wheelchair athletes are permitted while bicycles skateboards and rollerblades are not. Baby strollers are allowed at the back of the starting pack and leashed dogs are permitted. Headphones are allowed but participants should remain aware of course traffic.
