Event Details

The Hillbilly Half Race Series takes place on April 19, 2026 in Pikeville, Kentucky. The event is held at Pikeville City Park, located at 178 College Street. It coincides with the Hillbilly Days festival, which is described as Kentucky's second largest festival.

Course and Terrain

The courses start at Pikeville City Park in the downtown area. The 10K route is run entirely on pavement and sidewalks within downtown Pikeville. The Half Marathon route includes the 10K portion and then continues onto a trail section, described as a wide path that is either paved or gravel, with inclines. The event is timed using a bib-mounted B-tag system.

Participant Information

All registered participants receive a t-shirt or tank top and a finisher's medal. The 2026 medal is a limited edition design, described as a "Hillbilly baby boy" medal, which is the third in a series of family-themed medals.

The event permits runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. Baby strollers are allowed at the back of the starting pack, and leashed dogs are permitted. Bicycles, skateboards, and rollerblades are not allowed.

Packet pickup is available on the day before the race (April 18) near 424 Bob Amos Drive and on race morning at Pikeville City Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
