Conquer The Wall Endurance Challenge
Conquer The Wall is an endurance event held on the campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Williamson, WV on March 12, 2027. The event offers two timed formats, a 47 hour event and a 35 hour event, and accepts individual solo entrants as well as relay teams of two or three. The course is a flat, paved 2.05 mile loop along the West Williamson flood wall and the college campus. When a participant in either the 47 hour or 35 hour formats reaches 50 miles crossing the timing mat, they may reverse direction on the loop.
Participants wear an ankle bracelet timing device on the right leg at all times; teams exchange that bracelet between runners to register laps. A rucking option is available for the 47 hour and 35 hour events, with a 25 pound rucksack weight that will be checked before the race, periodically during the event, and after the race. The event is limited to 250 participants.
Onsite amenities noted for the event include a main aid station at start and finish, food and hydration options, porta potties at each end of the flood wall, cots and limited indoor lodging on campus, camping near the course, and live timing displays. Volunteers are organized in roughly four hour shifts and receive a long sleeve volunteer shirt. Awards and finisher items include belt buckles and other mileage based items for 50 miles, 100 miles and higher totals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
