Event Overview
The 24th Highway One Companies 5k is a running and walking event held in Dewey Beach, Delaware. It is the first event in the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach Road Race Series. The event is held in memory of Doug White.
Race Details
The event features two main categories:
- 5k Run/Walk
- Competitive Walking 5k (participants must walk the entire distance)
The race starts and finishes at the Rusty Rudder on Dickinson Street. A course map is available on the event page. Results are chip-timed using the MYLAPS BibTag system and are posted online.
Awards and Amenities
Awards are given in several categories. Top overall male and female finishers receive gift cards. Awards are also presented for masters categories, five-year age groups, top walkers, and most patriotic participants. A special award is given to the largest pre-registered beach house team.
Participants receive gender-specific tech shirts and other giveaway items. A post-race party includes food and beer for those 21 and over; additional party tickets can be purchased.
