The Highlands Twilight 5K takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Highlands, North Carolina. The venue is Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park at 483 Pine Street, Highlands, NC 28741. The event includes two race options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Stroller Race
Entry fees listed are $35 for standard entrants; the 5K Run/Walk shows age-based pricing of $0 for ages 0-4 and $10 for ages 5-9. The registration price increases after July 15, 2026. A race T-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by July 16, 2026; shirts are available afterward subject to supply.
Logistics and awards
Strollers and walkers are permitted. Well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed near the back of the pack. Parking is available around Kelsey-Hutchinson Park, Highlands Recreation Park, Highlands Ball-field, and the Highlands Post Office. One complimentary beer is provided to participants of legal drinking age who finish the race; a concert featuring the ABC Combo follows the event.
All proceeds benefit the Gordon Center for Child Development. Awards are presented to overall top male and female finishers, top Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, and the top three in each five-year age division. There is a $100 prize for beating the course record (16:57) and $50 for setting a new age-category record. The course is USATF certified (NC16004DW).
