Highlands Twilight 5K
The Highlands Twilight 5K takes place in Highlands, North Carolina at Kelsey Hutchinson Founders Park, 483 Pine Street. The event offers two 5 kilometer races: a general 5K Run/Walk and a 5K Stroller Race.

Registration opens 2026-09-11 and closes 2027-07-20. Standard registration fee is $35; day of race fee is $45. Pricing for children is specified: children under 5 run for free and children aged 5 to 9 have a $10 fee. A race T-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by 2027-07-20; shirts may be available after that date on a first come basis.
The stroller category is a stroller only division described as a winner take all event. Well behaved leashed dogs are permitted toward the back of the pack. Free beer is provided to finishers of legal drinking age by Ugly Dog Pub. A concert follows the race sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce; attendees may bring blankets, coolers and chairs. Parking is available around Kelsey Hutchinson Park, Highlands Recreation Park, Highlands Ballfield and the Highlands Post Office.
Awards are presented to overall top male and female, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters and the top three finishers in each five year age division. Cash bonuses are offered for new course or age category records. The course is USATF certified NC16004DW and proceeds support a local charity.
