Highlands Twilight 5K
The Highlands Twilight 5K takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Highlands, NC at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park (483 Pine Street, 28741). The event includes the following distances:

- 5K Stroller Race

Entry fees are listed at $35 for the main events; the 5K Run/Walk has reduced pricing for children: $0 for ages 0-4 and $10 for ages 5-9. Registration opens November 18, 2025. A race-day registration and packet pickup period is available at the park. A t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by July 16, 2026; availability is first-come after that date.
All proceeds support the Gordon Center for Child Development. Awards are given to overall top male and female, top Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, and the top three finishers in each five-year age division. A $100 prize is offered for beating the course record (16:57) and $50 for setting a new age-group record. The course is USATF certified (NC16004DW). Leashed dogs are permitted at the back of the pack. Parking is available around Kelsey-Hutchinson Park and nearby Highlands facilities. A post-race concert will follow, and the Ugly Dog Pub provides one free beer to participants of legal drinking age who finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
