Highball to Thurmond Ultra and Relay - May 16, 2027
A point-to-point ultra and relay through New River Gorge National Park in Thurmond, West Virginia. The event includes on-course running, rucking, relay teams, and virtual options, with a finish in historic Thurmond and nearby access to train service.
The course mixes rugged singletrack, rocky climbs, mountain dirt roads, and a section of paved road. The 50 Mile course includes roughly 12 miles of paved road and about 6,000 feet of elevation gain. The 50K course is described with about 3,100 feet of elevation gain and marked trails with multiple aid stations.
Relay teams may register in groups of 2, 3, or 4 and use five relay handoff points. Team members may run legs in any order and may run multiple legs provided every team member completes at least one. The event also lists a ruck option, pacer roles, and virtual 50 Mile and 50K entries.
