Event overview
The High Trails Trail Running Retreat takes place Thursday, July 9 to Sunday, July 12, 2026 in Buena Vista, Colorado (ZIP 81211). The camp is based at Cottonwood Creek and uses a riverside home near Main Street and local trails. Each day offers trail outings with distance options ranging 10–20 miles. The schedule includes daily runs, run-hike or hike options; participants may run, hike, or mix both. A group hike up Hope Pass or a 14er in the Sawatch range is planned, with the final itinerary subject to campers and weather. The weekend includes a shorter shakeout run before departure.
Registration and inclusions
Registration offers four options: Shared Room ($652, includes $32 fee), Private Room with Shared Bath ($904, includes $44 fee), Private Room with Private Bath ($956.50, includes $46.50 fee), and No Lodging ($421, includes $21 fee). Prices increase after December 31, 2025. Camp registration includes daily workouts of 10 to 20 miles; daily educational topics about trail running; team meals and snacks (supplies for breakfast and lunch, catered dinners, and snacks); lodging if selected; a retreat T-shirt, stickers, and swag; and nutrition samples. Participants should be able to run or hike the minimum distance in a single outing on rugged terrain and should be running about 30–40 miles per week.
