Event Overview

The Collegiate Peaks Trail Run is a 36th-anniversary event. It offers two distances: a 25-mile race and a 50-mile race. The course is primarily on single-track and jeep trails near Buena Vista, Colorado. It follows part of the old historic Midland Railroad and travels through scenic areas north and east of town.

Course Details

The event begins and ends near the Arkansas River in Buena Vista. The starting elevation is nearly 8,000 feet. The course involves significant elevation changes, with over 3,500 feet of elevation gain and drop on each loop. Much of the route passes through lands managed by the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. Participants running the 25-mile race complete one loop clockwise. Participants running the 50-mile race complete the loop twice, running the second loop counterclockwise.
