High Hope Endurance Run
The High Hope Endurance Run takes place on High Hope Ranch, a 1,000-acre property in Glen Rose, Texas. Held over Memorial Day weekend, the event utilizes the limestone breaks and trails of the Texas Hill Country. The course wanders through a sanctuary dedicated to biodynamic agriculture and wildlife, located adjacent to Fossil Rim.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of distances to suit different endurance goals:
- 200 km
- 100 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
The event operates with a focus on environmental consciousness. It is a cupless race, requiring participants to bring their own hydration vessels for refills at aid stations. Aid stations are staffed by volunteers and provide real food. Camping is available on-site for registered participants and one guest at no additional cost. This camping is primitive boondocking without hook-ups, and open fires are prohibited.
Participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal. Those completing the 100 km and 200 km distances are awarded ultra buckles. To protect the local habitat and comply with event policy, pets are not permitted on the trails. The event takes place rain or shine, though courses may be modified in the event of extreme weather.
