Hickory Summer Track Series
The Hickory Summer Track Series is a four‑week track and field series held on Thursdays in June at the Lenoir Rhyne University outdoor track in Hickory, North Carolina. The series includes multiple running and field events and uses a points system so participants accumulate points across the meets. To be eligible for age group and series awards, participants must compete in at least two of the four dates.
Events across the series include 1 mile, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 2 miles, 4x100 m relay, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, high jump and pole vault. Entry options include registering for the full series or for individual race dates; online registration closes the day of each event and on site registration is available prior to each meet. Prices increase by five dollars for later registration.
Age groups are organized as follows: 5 and under, 6 to 10, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over. Training opportunities for ages 6 to 18 are offered at Hickory High School and are led by coaching staff. The series is presented in partnership with Lenoir Rhyne University and Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism. The venue address is 625 7th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
