About the race
The Hickory Flatout 5K is an annual road race held on September 6, 2027, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 4096 East Cherokee Drive, Canton, GA. Proceeds from the event support Hide and Seek Day Camp.
The main event is a chip timed 5K on a USATF certified course. The course is described as mostly flat with a few rolling hills and follows an out-and-back route beginning and ending at the church. A kid's Fun Run includes a short course with play elements and obstacles designed for children. A Phantom Runner option allows supporters who do not run to register and still receive a race day tee.
Practical event arrangements include early bib pick-up on Sunday, September 5 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church parking lot behind the church, and race day bib pick-up with in-person registration at the venue. Awards are given overall for male and female, for grandmasters male and female, and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under through 80 and over.
