Event Overview
The Hickory Flatout 5K is an annual road race and fun run held on Labor Day. The event starts and finishes at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Canton, Georgia. The proceeds from the race support Hide and Seek Day Camp.
Race Details
The main event is a 5K chip-timed road race on a USATF-certified course. The course is described as mostly flat with a few rolling hills and follows an out-and-back route from the church. A separate Fun Run for kids is also held. This run features an obstacle course inspired by the summer camp.
Registration Options
Participants can register for several categories:
- 5K (chip timed)
- 5K Wheelchair Assist (for the person pushing the wheelchair)
- 5K Wheelchair Rider (for the person in the wheelchair)
- Fun Run
- Phantom Runners (for those not running but wishing to support the event and receive a race t-shirt)
Early bib pick-up is available the day before the race at the church. There is also race day registration.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5K race. Categories include overall male and female, grandmasters male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in various age groups from 10 and under to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
