Hickory Flatout 5K
The Hickory Flatout 5K is an annual Labor Day road event held in Canton, Georgia, with the start and finish at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 4096 East Cherokee Drive. The 5K is chip timed and the course is USATF certified; it is described as mostly flat with a few rolling hills on an out-and-back route.
Proceeds from the event support Hide and Seek Day Camp. The program includes a separate kid's Fun Run that features obstacle elements, a general Fun Run, and options for wheelchair assist and wheelchair riders. There is also a Phantom Runner option for participants who wish to support the event without running; Phantom registrants receive a race day tee.
Awards are given for overall male and female, grandmasters male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in standard age groups from 10 and under through 70 and over. Early bib pick-up is offered the day before at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Sponsors and fundraising appear as part of the event structure.
