About the race
The Hero's Bridge Prince William Turkey Trot in Manassas is a community running event held on 11/26/2026 at the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center, 9100 Freedom Center Blvd. Fun Run Racing partners with Hero’s Bridge and a portion of proceeds will benefit that charitable organization, which serves elderly veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War with age-specific programs.
Event distances include:
- 5K Turkey Trot 5 kilometers
- Mashed Potato Mile 1 mile, not timed
Packet pick up is scheduled for Wednesday 11/25 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center; packet pick up is not at The Running Store. Registration opens 9/10/2026 and closes 9/30/2026; listed fees are $45 for the 5K and $25 for the 1-mile.
Course and logistics notes: strollers are allowed, dogs are not allowed for safety. The 5K has a course time limit of 55 minutes. The race route is closed to spectators except authorized race staff, police, and traffic control personnel. Participants and spectators may use the fitness center to stay warm before and after the races.
Support and post-race details: all participants receive a custom race shirt, medal, custom bib, and a digital finisher’s certificate. Top finishers in the 5K and age group placings receive awards. Water will be provided at a station near the 1.5-mile mark and at the finish. The event follows Virginia Department of Health guidelines and RRCA best practices.
