Hero Run
The Hero Run is a community athletic event held at Riverfront Park in Niles, Michigan. The event includes multiple distances designed to accommodate different levels of activity, with courses traveling through downtown Niles, historic neighborhoods, and along the Riverwalk Trail. All proceeds from the event are used to support local resource initiatives for families in the Michiana region.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10K running race
- 5K running race
- 1 Mile walk and fun run
The 5K and 10K events are electronically timed. Recognition is provided for the top three male and female finishers overall in these distances. Additionally, awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over.
An exclusive event t-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register at least 15 days before the event. Those registering after this deadline may select from remaining inventory based on availability. The event also features a costume contest; participants who dress as superheroes are automatically entered for a chance to win. Registration fees vary by distance, and the 1-Mile Walk starts and ends at the park location on Sycamore Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
