Hermes Westlake Spring Fever
The Hermes Westlake Spring Fever is an annual running event held at Westlake High School in Westlake, Ohio. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Westlake Educational Foundation, an organization that provides grants for creative and innovative projects within the Westlake City Schools. Participants run through a scenic course that passes through local Westlake neighborhoods.
The event offers several distances and participation options for different age groups:
- 4 Mile Run (chip-timed)
- 2 Mile Run/Walk (chip-timed)
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (not timed)
- Kids Dash (untimed, for ages 6 and under)
Registration for the 1, 2, and 4-mile events includes a race shirt and a pancake breakfast provided by the Kiwanis of Westlake. After the races, awards are presented inside the high school. Top overall male and female finishers are recognized in the 4 Mile and 2 Mile races, with additional age group awards provided for the 4 Mile distance.
The event features a variety of family-oriented activities located in the Westlake High School Auxiliary Gym. These activities include face painting, corn hole, hula hoops, bowling, limbo, and soccer.
