Event details
The Jog Into Spring is the 24th annual race held on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Proceeds benefit the Renee Fontana Roche Memorial Scholarship/Garden Fund and Living Classroom. The event includes these distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (chip timed)
- 1 Mile Walk (untimed)
- Virtual Event (complete 5K or 1 mile independently)
Refreshments are provided at the finish line. A raffle will be held on site with prizes from local businesses; a grand prize is provided by Diamonds Direct.
Registration and virtual participation
Registration opens December 1, 2025. Pre-registration by Friday, April 24 is $25; late registration after April 24 is $30. A family rate of $70 covers four people at the same address. Mailed entries must be received by Wednesday, April 15. Registration includes a t-shirt; registrants who register by April 13 are guaranteed a shirt. Virtual participants can complete the selected distance anywhere and may submit 5K results by Wednesday, April 29. Virtual registrants who register by April 6 will be mailed a shirt prior to race week.
Location and awards
The race begins and ends at the Independence Civic Center, 6363 Selig Drive, Independence, OH 44131. Parking is available at the site. Awards are given to top overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
