Event overview
Her Majesty's Royal Races 2026 takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at HMCS Haida National Historic Site (Pier 9, 658 Catharine St N, Hamilton, ON). The event offers both in-person and virtual options. Distances offered are:
- 3K
- 5K
- 10K
The event raises funds for the Army Cadet League in support of the RHLI Cadets - 62 RHLI RCACC, and it is collecting non-perishable food items for Hamilton Food Share. Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in each distance. All three distances are chip timed and results are posted by the event timing provider.
Race details and logistics
Race kits include a choice of a fascinator and purse or a top hat, a finisher medal (available in two colour options), and additional items. Virtual participants receive a finisher medal and may pay extra for shipping; the virtual race can be completed anytime between April 1 and April 30, 2026. Virtual results can be submitted via the Runkeeper app or the event results page; virtual finishers receive a certificate.
Race kit pickup is scheduled on days prior to the event at local pickup locations and at HMCS Star on race day. An exclusive 30-minute tour of HMCS Haida is available for pre-registered participants and supporters for a small fee. If the in-person event cannot proceed, it will be converted to a virtual race and no refunds will be issued; registrants will still receive their race kit.
