Her Majesty's Royal Races 2026

Her Majesty's Royal Races is the fourth annual running event celebrating the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. It takes place on April 19, 2026, at the HMCS Haida National Historic Site in Hamilton, Ontario.

Distances and Formats Participants can choose from three race distances:

  • 1K
  • 5K
  • 10K

The event is offered in-person and virtually. The virtual race can be completed anytime between April 1 and April 30, 2026.

Event Features The event has a royal theme. For the 5K and 10K races, runners receive a fascinator and a purse (containing a marmalade sandwich) or top hats for men. All finishers, including those in the 1K, receive a finisher medal available in multiple colors. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K events.

Fundraising and Partners The event raises funds for the Army Cadet League in support of the RHLI Cadets. A non-perishable food drive for Hamilton Food Share is also held at the race.

Practical Information 30-minute guided tours of the HMCS Haida are available for participants and their supporters, with pre-registration required. The 5K and 10K races are chip-timed. Race kit pickup is available in Burlington and Stoney Creek prior to the event, as well as on-site on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
