Hells Hills Trail Race, Smithville TX
The event takes place on April 4, 2026 at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, Texas. Multiple distances are offered on a looped single track course that features short steep hills, stream crossings, bridges, pine trees, and seasonal wildflowers.

Route notes: the 50 km uses two laps of roughly 15.5 miles and the 50 mile distance uses three laps of roughly 16.67 miles. The course has frequent short climbs rather than long sustained ascents. Organizers provide extensive markings including reflective markers for nighttime navigation.
Support and services: there are two full aid stations plus the start/finish Saloon station and a self support station; runners can expect supplies every 2.8 to 4.5 miles. A temporary water/snack station is placed for the 10 km at about 3.7 miles and may be removed after 10 km runners pass. The event is cupless; runners must carry their own cup or bottle. Collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup.
Special divisions and rules: a Ruck division requires mandatory weighted packs and pre race weigh in; specified weights apply by body weight and trekking poles are not allowed. Pacers, awards, youth race format, camping, drop bag policy, and other event details follow organizer rules. March 10 is the shirt cutoff date.
