Hell on Hogsback: Endurance Challenge

Hell on Hogsback is an endurance running event held at Stinchcomb-Groth Memorial Hill in the Rocky River Reservation, Lakewood, Ohio (18005 Hogsback Ln). The event offers timed loop challenges where participants complete as many laps as they can within a chosen time allotment. The event raises funds to assist people affected by cancer.

The course is a 1.1 mile loop with 140 ft of elevation gain and loss per loop and an average 12% grade. The loop starts near the top of Stinchcomb-Groth Memorial Hill, descends to the bottom of Hogsback Lane, turns around a cone, and returns uphill to the top. Each lap finishes with a short loop through the parking area and an upper single track where aid stations, tents, and vendors are located.

Event options include:

  • 1-Hour Solo Endurance Challenge
  • 3-Hour Solo Endurance Challenge
  • 6-Hour Solo Endurance Challenge
  • 12-Hour Solo Endurance Challenge
  • 12-Hour Team of 2 Endurance Challenge (cumulative lap scoring; each teammate registers)

Registrations are donation-based with minimum donations by event. Registrations include chip timing, on-site medical and physical therapy support, on-course nutrition access, a light food item, shuttle access from nearby parking, sauna and cold plunge access, and post 1-hour race yoga when applicable. Race t-shirts are sold separately.
