Helen's Run/Walk 5K 2027
Helen's Run/Walk is a charity 5K run and walk organized at Sands Point Preserve Conservancy, 127 Middle Neck Rd., Sands Point, NY 11050. Registration for the 2027 edition is not yet open; the organizer provides an option to receive a notification when registration opens. Historical race information and past results are available.
The event includes live online, text, and email results, free finish line photos and same‑day finish line video, and an after‑race celebration with food and drinks. On-site bib pickup is provided; registrants who register within 24 hours of the event receive their bib number by text within about 90 seconds.
Medals are awarded to top finishers in multiple categories, including overall male and female, DeafBlind, low vision or blind, veteran, and youth 13 and under.
Funds raised at the event support Destiny Home and local communication access initiatives at HKNC. Destiny Home is a certified group home serving DeafBlind individuals with intellectual disabilities; it provides 24-hour support for a small number of permanent residents in Port Washington and emphasizes accessible and preferred communication methods. Support for HKNC is directed toward communication and environmental access services such as interpreting, SSP services, and assistive technologies that help DeafBlind individuals with employment, training, and community participation.
