Helen's 5K Run/Walk
Helen's 5K Run/Walk offers both an in person race at Sands Point Preserve in Sands Point, New York, and a virtual option. The event uses a USATF certified course for the in person race and the fixed distance for both options is 5K.
The in person event takes place on September 20, 2026, at Sands Point Preserve, 127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, NY. The virtual event is open nationwide from September 14 through September 26, 2026. Virtual participants are asked to record their 5K time in the virtual results page and may use RaceJoy to measure time and distance; entries require the assigned race number. The virtual option does not include awards.
Registration fees are listed as $35 for general entry and $25 for ages 1 to 17. Registration is nonrefundable and nontransferrable. Participants who pre-register for the in person event may receive a T-shirt; registering by September 1 is recommended to guarantee size. Post-race lite bites and refreshments are noted for the in person event. Participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
The event includes award categories for overall finishers, age groups, Veterans, physically challenged athletes, and separate awards for DeafBlind and Blind/Low-Vision competitors.
