Helena Outdoor Triathlon (HOTri)
The Helena Outdoor Triathlon takes place on July 12, 2026 at Spring Meadow Lake State Park in Helena, MT. The event uses a spring-fed man-made lake for swims, recently reconstructed two lane roads for the bike courses, and a flat trail for the run courses. Sheriffs will be present along the roads for participant safety.
Event formats offered include sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, team divisions, an aquabike, a duathlon, a Super Sprint beginner race, a 5K fun run, and a virtual option. Virtual entrants can race sprint or Olympic distances, upload finish times, and receive a medal; T-shirt availability is guaranteed until May 31.
Participants registered in triathlon, duathlon, or aqua-bike categories receive a post-race meal, a shirt, a finishers medal, and age group awards to third place. All 5K participants receive a finisher medal. Net proceeds from the event are donated to local charities; past contributions include $2,000 to Prickly Pear Land Trust, $1,300 to Queen City Wheel House, and over $500 to Helena Food Share.
