Helena Outdoor Triathlon (HOTri) : Spring Meadow Lake State Park
The event is held at Spring Meadow Lake State Park in Helena, Montana. The swim takes place in a spring-fed man-made lake. Bike courses use two-lane roads with sheriff presence for safety. The run course is on trail and is described as flat. Dogs are not allowed in the state park; they are allowed at Ten Mile Park where the run course is located.
Multiple race formats are offered, including sprint and Olympic triathlon options, aqua-bike, duathlon, a Super Sprint beginner race, a 5K fun run, and a virtual option. Entry for triathlon, duathlon, and aqua-bike includes a post-race meal, a shirt, a finishers medal, and age group awards through third place. The 5K fun run is organized as a fundraiser and includes a finishers medal. Virtual participants may race Sprint or Olympic distances remotely, upload times, and receive a medal; T shirts are guaranteed for registrations through May 31.
All net proceeds go to local charities. Past donations listed include contributions to the Prickly Pear Land Trust, Queen City Wheel House, Helena Food Share, and other community causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
