Governor's Cup
The Governor's Cup is a multi-distance road running event held in Helena, Montana, in June 2027. The program includes a half marathon, a 10K, a 5K and a timed mile run, staged on downtown streets and nearby roads with views of the city and surrounding valley.
Distances:
- Half Marathon - 13.1 Miles
- 10K - 6.22 Miles
- 5K - 3.11 Miles
- Mile Run - 1 Mile
The half marathon shares its start with the mile, 5K and 10K races. Its first three miles follow the 10K course, then the route proceeds onto South Hills Road with views of the Helena valley, and it rejoins the shorter courses to finish up the walking mall. There is no busing for the half marathon. The half marathon and the 5K note that there are no refunds for cancellation.
The 10K and 5K begin in downtown Helena near Cruse Avenue, with the 10K start near the Holter Museum and the 5K start at Cruse and Lawrence. Both finish on Last Chance Gulch and pass views of Mount Helena, the State Capitol and other historic sites.
Registration opens October 5, 2026, and registration deadlines vary by distance. The mile run is a timed event and can be added to a 5K or 10K entry for an additional fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
