Heddington 5k Series
The Heddington 5k Series is a stripped back summer running series held in June, July and August and organised by Calne Running Club. The events use a fast, flat route on quiet country lanes around Heddington that is intended to optimise personal best potential over the 5 km distance.
Race headquarters are at Charles Willis Hall, Church Road, Heddington, SN11 0PH, adjacent to the Church of England primary school. The hall is manned throughout the event for baggage storage and registration. A baggage run to the finish will be provided for bags left at Race HQ. Ample toilet facilities are available in the village hall. Free parking is available near the Ivy Inn with signs and marshals directing vehicles.
The course has a certificate of course accuracy and the series holds a UKA race permit. Events are chip timed with timing services provided by DB Max. Suitable medical cover is present and water is available at the finish. The route starts a short distance beyond Charles Willis Hall, features a downhill opening before levelling, and finishes in the centre of Heddington at the Ivy Inn.
The series is run in a low-cost format with no finisher mementos; entry fees contribute to event organisation and safety. Entry fees are £12 for affiliated runners and £14 for unaffiliated runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
