Heaven Can Wait 5K - Colchester
The Heaven Can Wait 5K Fun Run takes place in the historic city of Colchester. This event is held within the 67 acre grounds of the Colchester Cemetery, a site established in 1856. The location features a landscape of parkland, Victorian headstones, and mature trees, including rare specimens and nearly 400 Commonwealth War Graves.
The course follows accessible pathways throughout the tranquil cemetery grounds, making it open to participants of various abilities. The event is organized in conjunction with Dying Matters Awareness Week 2026. Participants have the option to run for personal goals, in memory of others, or as part of a team effort to support local charitable causes.

The event is open to individuals aged 13 and older. Participants receive a sustainably sourced wooden medal and a commemorative T-shirt upon completion. There is also an option to choose tree planting through a partner organization instead of receiving a T-shirt.
On-site facilities include water stations located at the start and end of the route. Toilets are available at the Crematorium and near the start line at the bottom of the cemetery.
