Brattleboro Turkey Trot
The Brattleboro Turkey Trot is a free, annual road race held since 1975 and organized by the Red Clover Rovers as a community event for Brattleboro-area runners. The event is 100% volunteer-run and funded by donations; after expenses, proceeds are directed to Groundworks Collaborative and the Vermont Foodbank.
The main event is a classic 3-mile course on Upper Dummerston Road that starts and ends near the Brattleboro Country Club. A 1-mile kids' race takes place beforehand. Participants must register to receive a bib and to be timed; race-day registration is available only online and there is no in-person race-day registration.
Check-in and bib pickup occur on Thanksgiving morning from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. The event sometimes has more than 300 participants, and Country Club parking can be busy. Strollers are welcome; dogs are not permitted. The road remains open to traffic, so runners and walkers are asked to keep to the left and be aware of vehicles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
