Heart of the Desert Wine Run 5k

The Heart of the Desert Wine Run is a timed 5k run/walk held on February 6, 2027 at Heart of the Desert Pistachios & Wines in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The event takes place on the property of the vineyard and invites participants to run or walk the measured course. Timing and scoring are provided by J3 Timing and results are posted online.

The vineyard contains 24,000 vines and grows seven grape varieties: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Shiraz, Riesling, Malvasia Bianca, and Gewurztraminer. Event registration opens May 11, 2026 and closes November 14, 2026; the registration fee is $25.00.

Registration includes a Super Soft Ring Spun Cotton T shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip timed race bib, published results, and a pour of wine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
