Heart of the Desert Wine Run 5k - Alamogordo, NM
The Heart of the Desert Wine Run 5k is a chip timed 5 kilometer run and walk held at Heart of the Desert Pistachios & Wines in Alamogordo on February 7, 2026. The course starts and finishes at the winery and follows mostly dirt roads through the winery and pistachio farm. The route is organized as two loops; participants may stop at the finish wine line after one loop and return to the winery.
Registration includes a Super Soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip timed race bib, and a pour of wine for eligible participants. Results are recorded and posted online by J3 Timing.
The event offers age group awards for top finishers in each age category with awards available only on race day. The race is open to a wide age range and minors may participate; minors receive a registration package but do not receive the wine glass or a wine pour. Strollers are permitted though not recommended because of uneven ground. Dogs are not allowed on site due to farm regulations.
