About the race
The Cloudcroft Ugly Sweater event is a holiday season running and walking event held on December 5, 2026 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. The start and finish take place at the Cloudcroft Pavilion, 1100 James Canyon Hwy, Cloudcroft NM 88317. The event field is limited to 100 participants.

Registration for each distance includes event SWAG. For the 5K this can include an Ugly Sweater finisher medal, a Christmas race bib, and a custom long sleeve shirt if registration meets the shirt deadline of November 23. The 1 Mile Walk registration includes an Ugly Sweater finisher medal, a Christmas race bib, and a short sleeve Ugly Sweater shirt. The finish area will offer holiday snacks, a hot chocolate station, and Christmas cookies.
The event is stroller friendly and requires online registration. Awards are given to the overall top finishers in the 5K for male and female categories, and there is an Ugliest Sweater contest with prizes. Early check in is available on the Friday before the event at Cloudcroft Brewing Company. Proceeds from the event will benefit local non profit organizations.
