Cloudcroft Ugly Sweater 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk
The Cloudcroft Ugly Sweater event is a themed running and walking event taking place in Cloudcroft, New Mexico on December 5, 2026. The start and finish are at the Cloudcroft Pavilion, located at 1100 James Canyon Highway. This is the event's second annual edition and proceeds will benefit local non-profits.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K run
- 1 Mile walk
Registration includes a limited number of event SWAG items and there is a participant cap of 100. 5K registrants receive an Ugly Sweater finisher's medal, a Christmas race bib, and a custom long-sleeve shirt if registered by the shirt deadline of November 23. 1 Mile walk registrants receive an Ugly Sweater finisher's medal, a Christmas race bib, and a custom Ugly Sweater short-sleeve shirt. Additional finish-line items include holiday snacks, a hot chocolate station, and Christmas cookies.
The event features awards for overall top finishers in the 5K and prizes for an ugliest sweater contest. The race is followed by community holiday activities downtown, including a Christmas tree lighting and a parade. Early check-in is available the day before at Cloudcroft Brewing Company.
