2026 Austin 5K - Head for the Cure
The 14th Annual Head for the Cure 5K - Austin is a community event focused on raising awareness and clinical research funds for brain cancer. The event takes place at The Domain, located at Amy Donovan Plaza. Participants can choose between different activities on the day of the event:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 100 Meter Dash (Kids Fun Run)
The event serves as a platform to support brain tumor patients, survivors, and caregivers. Funds raised through the 5K locally benefit the Texas Oncology Austin Brain Tumor Center and Path to Hope, as well as various national education programs and brain cancer initiatives.
The morning includes several commemorative activities to recognize individuals within the brain tumor community. These include the Keeping the Faith recognition for survivors, the Legacy of Love award for caregivers or medical professionals, and the Healthcare Hero award for nominated medical workers. There is also a dedicated memorial to honor those who have battled brain cancer and a group photo for brain tumor survivors.
Amenities for participants include a designated parking area and packet pick-up services available on the morning of the event. Team participation is encouraged, with resources provided for team captains to organize groups and fundraising efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
