HBCU 5K Run/Walk and Community Day
The event is a 5K run and walk held on June 27, 2026, at The Bridge District in Washington, DC (633 Howard Street SE, Washington, DC 20020). It combines an in-person community day with a virtual participation option and supports scholarship fundraising for local students who plan to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
In-person registrations include a race bib, commemorative shirt, and medal. Adult participants age 11 or older on event day receive a bib with a timing chip. Children ages 3-10 receive a bib without a timing chip. Virtual participants time their own effort at a location of their choice and receive a commemorative medal and race shirt by mail; virtual registrations cannot be converted to in-person entries.
Participants race as members of teams; registrants without an existing team may join the DC HBCU Alumni Alliance team by choosing the first team option at registration. The venue is metro accessible and offers free parking. Packet pickup rules vary by registration date: those who register on or before May 15, 2026 must collect shirts and medals at packet pickup or on race day, while registrations on or after May 16, 2026 receive a bib at pickup and have shirts and medals mailed after the race. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
