13th Annual HBCU 5K Run/Walk and Community Day
The 13th Annual HBCU 5K Run/Walk and Community Day, titled HBCUs Run the District, is scheduled for June 27, 2026 in Washington, DC at The Bridge District, 633 Howard Rd SE. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation. Virtual participants select their own course and pace, time their own effort, and receive a commemorative medal and race shirt by mail. Virtual registrations cannot be transferred to in-person entries.
In-person participants receive a commemorative medal, race shirt, and race bib. Adult participants age 11 or older on event day receive a bib with a timing chip; children ages 3 to 10 receive a bib without a timing chip. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Participants who register on or before May 15, 2026 must pick up medals and shirts at packet pick-up or on race day; items not picked up will be forfeited. Participants who register on or after May 16, 2026 will receive a bib only at packet pick-up and will have medals and shirts mailed after the race.
Community Day programming includes a Greek Giveback fundraiser, an Alumni Row with alumni chapter tables, and a vendor area. Vendor and volunteer application deadlines are May 31, 2026.
