Haytor Dartmoor Summer Series Maprun

The Haytor Dartmoor Summer Series Maprun is an orienteering event held on the open moor of Dartmoor, featuring a generally runnable terrain with pits, rocks, and outcrops. It is the second of five events in the summer league and is designed for experienced orienteers, as the courses are not suitable for novices. Participants use the MapRun 7 smartphone app to navigate without physical flags, combining traditional orienteering skills with digital tracking.

Three courses are offered: an Orange course (3.8 km, 125m climb), a Short Technical Green course (4.7 km, 160m climb), and a Long Technical Blue course (7.2 km, 200m climb). Entry fees are £6 for seniors and £4 for juniors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
