Hawthorne 4-Hour Run
Hawthorne 4-Hour Run is a new event for 2027 held at Hawthorne Park Community Center, 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, Indiana 46304. The race is organized as a timed road run on town streets.
Participants complete a one mile loop repeatedly for four hours. The course is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. An aid station is located inside the community center where participants can get fuel and warm up.
Registrants receive a limited edition t-shirt while supplies last. If t-shirts run out, registrants will receive a winter hat and gloves instead.
The event is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series (CLRS). CLRS promotes non-pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana, developing and managing new and existing races in parks or areas within Lake, Porter, and Laporte counties. The series describes its events as having specific course designs in a low-key atmosphere.
The series welcomes participation regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression. Transgender runners may register as the gender they identify with without documentation. The series also acknowledges that the land used for its races is the seized territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations, and notes historical presence of the Lenape (Delaware).
