Hawthorne 4-Hour Run
The Hawthorne 4-Hour Run is a new event in 2027 held at Hawthorne Park Community Center, 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, Indiana 46304. Participants run a 1-mile loop repeatedly for a total duration of four hours on town streets.
The course runs on local streets and is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. An aid station is located inside the community center; it provides fuel and a place to warm up if temperatures are low. Limited-edition event t-shirts will be distributed while supplies last; if shirts run out, registrants will receive a winter hat and gloves instead.
The event is presented by the Crazy Legs Race Series, which organizes races in parks and public areas across Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. The series states its purpose is to promote pavement and non-pavement races in Northwest Indiana and to develop and manage new and existing races. The series also affirms an inclusive registration policy that allows participants to register under the gender they identify with without documentation.
