About the race
Hawthorne 4-Hour Run is a new event for 2027 held at Hawthorne Park Community Center, 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, Indiana, on January 30, 2027. The event takes place on a town-street loop based out of the community center.
Participants complete a repeated 1 mile loop and run as many laps as possible within a 4 hours timed period. The course is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. An aid station is located inside the community center where participants can get fuel and warm up if conditions are cold.
A limited number of event t-shirts will be distributed; once shirts are gone, remaining registrants will receive a winter hat and gloves instead. Registration fees shown for the road run range from $55.49 to $71.53 depending on the registration period.
The race is organized as part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which focuses on non-pavement and pavement events in Northwest Indiana. Series races are held in parks and areas across Lake, Porter and Laporte counties. The organizer states an inclusive registration policy that welcomes participants regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression; transgender runners may register under the gender they identify with without documentation.
