Event Overview

The Hawg Run is a 5K run/walk event that coincides with the 40th Annual Barbecue Festival, celebrating Barbecue Month. It takes place in Lexington, North Carolina.

Course & Location

The event starts and finishes at the J. Smith Young YMCA at 119 West 3rd Avenue. The course goes through local neighborhoods to Grimes Park and returns to the YMCA.

Registration & Logistics

All registration is online. Same-day registration is available in the YMCA parking lot. Due to the festival, parking is limited and many lots charge a fee. Organizers advise allowing extra time for travel and navigating detours on race morning.

Proceeds & Perks

All proceeds from the Hawg Run go directly to scholarships for community programs at the YMCA. These include after-school programs, summer camp, youth sports, swim lessons, and memberships for children and families. Participants who register by September 28 receive an official event t-shirt, which is not guaranteed for later registrants.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available at the J. Smith Young YMCA on the Friday before the event from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on race day from 6:00 AM to 6:45 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
