Turkey Strut 5K : Winston-Salem Fairgrounds
The event on 11/26/2026 is held at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, 2825 University Pkwy, Winston Salem NC 27105. It includes in-person and virtual options with distance choices listed below.

The in-person 5K is USATF certified and chip timed. The 1 mile fun run/walk is not chip timed but has a finish-line clock. Both in-person distances are open to runners and walkers; strollers and leashed, well-behaved dogs are permitted. Scooters, bikes, and wheeled recreational vehicles are not allowed on course.
Virtual participants may complete their 5K or 1 mile between Thanksgiving Day and the following Sunday; submitting results is optional. Virtual registration includes a long-sleeve shirt and finisher medal, with options for packet pickup on Wednesday or shipping. Virtual finishers can download a race bib and a finisher certificate after completing their distance.
The event benefits the We Care House of Winston-Salem. Participants are asked to bring at least three canned food items for the We Care House food bank; breakfast items and staples such as grits, pancake mix, syrup, oatmeal, rice, beans, and spaghetti are especially needed.
Registration opens 9/1/2026 for all events. Fees listed by event are $28.00 for the 5K, $17.00 for the 1 Mile, and $25.00 for each virtual event. Plenty of parking is available at the fairgrounds. Awards include turkeys for Top 3 Overall Male and Female and Top 3 Overall Masters Male and Female. All participants receive finisher medals; 5K participants receive long sleeve shirts and one-mile participants may purchase shirts during registration.
