Map Adventure in East Sacramento
The Haunted Sacramento event offers a map-based adventure through the decorated neighborhoods of East Sacramento's Fab 40's. Participants navigate a course to find specific displays and answer multiple choice questions at various checkpoints. The event is held at East Portal Park, with the base of operations located at the East Portal Clubhouse.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5k (approximately 20 checkpoints)
- 10k (approximately 36 checkpoints)
Registration is open to individuals and teams of 1 to 5 people. Divisions are available for women, men, and mixed groups, with age categories including Junior, Open, Masters (average age 40+), and Family. The course is designed for adults and families to navigate together using a map provided at check-in.
The event occurs rain or shine, and the organizer recommends wearing closed-toed shoes. After completing the course, participants gather at the finish for refreshments and socializing. The venue is accessible via public transit, with the 48th St. light rail stop being the closest station. Parking is available near the junction of L Street and Rodeo Way for those traveling by car.
