Haunted Sacramento 5K & 10K
Haunted Sacramento is a map-based adventure event on Saturday, October 31, 2026, held at the East Portal Clubhouse in East Portal Park, Sacramento, CA. Teams of one to five people or solo participants move through the decorated neighborhoods of East Sacramento's Fab 40s, visiting marked houses and answering simple multiple choice questions at each checkpoint. The 5K course includes about 20 checkpoints and the 10K course includes about 36 checkpoints. Maps are provided to navigate the course.
Distances and categories are established for scoring and awards. The event uses gender divisions (Women, Men, Mixed) and age divisions (Junior, Open, Masters with average age 40+, and Family including juniors and adults). After returning to the finish area, participants can enjoy snacks, drinks, and socializing.
The course is shown on maps with circles indicating checkpoint areas; participants find the house at the center of each circle and answer a question to proceed. The event runs rain or shine, and closed toed shoes are recommended. Registration is available online and on race day. Team members submit a single answer sheet at the finish with the team name and member names for scoring. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
