Haunted Hustle 5K, Monster Dash, and Wicked Walk
The City of Gulf Shores presents Haunted Hustle at Gulf Place Town Green & Public Beach on October 17, 2026. The event includes a 5K Walk/Run on a USATF-certified course (AL18053JE), a Monster Dash beach fun run, and the Wicked Walk costume parade around the Town Green.
The Wicked Walk is a festive costume walking parade where participants and bystanders exchange candy and beads; strollers and wagons are permitted. Registered participants receive a goodie bag and an event shirt.
The Monster Dash is a fun run on the sand of the public beach. It is not a timed event; all finishers receive an event medal, plus a goodie bag and event shirt.
The 5K event is chip timed for runners and walkers. Walkers are eligible for awards as the fastest male and female in ten-year age-increment categories and must not run or jog if registered as a walker. Runners are eligible for top three male and female awards in each age group and for fastest male and female honors by Master categories. Age groups are listed from 14 and under through 75 plus, with Masters and Grand Master classifications defined by age ranges. Participants may be eligible for only one award.
Packet pick-up is available at local locations before the event and on the Town Green on race day. The event features a live DJ, face painting, and balloon artists. Participating businesses will offer games and candy. Proceeds benefit the Dolphin Foundation for Education and Arts, which will also sell beer, wine, and refreshments on site. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Weather will be monitored and visible lightning will cause postponement or cancellation if conditions are unsafe.
