Event overview
The Big Beach Marathon, Half Marathon & Safari 5K is held in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The in-person events take place the weekend of January 24–25, 2026: the Safari 5K and Family Fun Run/Walk are on January 24, and the half marathon and full marathon are on January 25. The start and finish for the marathon and half marathon are located beach side at The Hangout. The courses run on fully paved trails through Gulf State Park and are described as flat and scenic. The marathon course is USATF certified and designated as a Boston qualifier.
