Hatchet Mid-Summer Mile : Tomahawk, WI
Hatchet Mid-Summer Mile is a track meet held July 11, 2026, at Hatchet Field, 1048 E. King Rd, Tomahawk, WI. The meet centers on the mile and includes a range of track events on a recently renovated track surface inside an updated stadium.
Events span youth races through elite competition. The program includes short youth races, multiple one-mile races grouped by age or category, mixed 4x400 meter relays, and a weighted vest mile. Several races request a recent 1600 meter or mile seed time or allow "NT" when no seed time is available. Some races specify age or qualification bands, for example elementary kids, middle school, high school, freshman, masters (age 35 and older), and elite fields with published seed standards. Relay teams register with a captain and follow a mixed running order of male, female, male, female. The vested mile requires specific vest weights for men and women.
Proceeds support the Hatchet cross country and track programs. Funds are intended for uniforms and warmups, upgraded training and racing equipment, and resources for hosting home meets, including flags and course markings.
Registration opens April 18, 2026. Additional event details such as schedule, sponsors, awards, and vendor presence are to be provided later. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
