For The Wild 5K/10K+
This event offers in-person and virtual options to raise funds for Wild Instincts, Inc., a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center in Rhinelander that serves wildlife throughout Wisconsin. Parking, the start, and the finish are at Newbold Recreation Area, 6954 Ole Lake Road, Rhinelander, WI.
The in-person course follows local roads and trails. The route begins and ends at Newbold Recreation Area, proceeds along Ole Lake Road, continues on Lake Mildred Road, uses the bike path, and returns to Ole Lake Road before finishing at Newbold Recreation Area. The longer distance is 10.9K (6.8 miles). The event is non-timed. Walkers, runners, and bikers are all allowed. Strollers are welcome and dogs are not permitted.
Entry fees are nonrefundable. Fees listed are $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K plus an additional service fee. Children 12 and under register free for liability purposes. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by September 17. Prizes are awarded to the top two finishers in these categories: 5K run, 10K+ run, and 10K+ bike.
