Tomahawk Pow Wow Days 5K / 10K / 1 Mile Fun Run
The 49th annual Pow Wow Days races take place in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, with the courses departing from Veterans Memorial Park on the Wisconsin River. The event includes multiple distances and community-oriented race elements on course and at the finish area.
Distances
- 5K: looped and basically flat; follows the 10K route about 2400 meters then crosses school grounds.
- 10K: scenic route along the Wisconsin River to a turnaround atop Kings Hill past Kings Dam.
- 1-mile Fun Run: looped course for all ages; awards for ages 12 and under.
Awards and provisions include guaranteed finishers medals for the top one-hundred 10K finishers and age-group medals for the 5K and 1-mile events. 5K age groups: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. 1-mile age groups: 6 & under, 7-9, 10-12. Trophies are listed for first and second overall in the 5K and 10K. 5K and 10K include a Most Patriotic costume contest with three placings and donated prize drawings distributed in the finish chute.
Registration fees listed are $35 for the 5K and 10K and $25 for the 1-mile Fun Run. T-shirts are only guaranteed for registrations before 6/12/2026; a limited supply will be available on race day. Awards pickup is at the Awards Table under the gazebo; 10K awards are handed out in the finish chute. Recent fields have ranged between 600 and 700 participants. In case of inclement weather the tentative plan is to run the race the next day; updates are sent by email and announced on local radio.
