Local Community Triathlon in Hatch End
The Hatch End-Harrow Triathlon is a volunteer-led sporting event hosted by the Jetstream Tri Club at the Harrow Arts Centre. This community-focused competition caters to both adults and juniors, serving as an early-season event for local sports clubs and individuals. The event is supported by local volunteers and partners with St Luke's Hospice.
Participants complete a pool-based swim, followed by a marshalled bike route and a run. The junior distances take place on grass playing fields to ensure a controlled environment for younger competitors. Professional chip timing is provided for all participants, and free event photography is made available after the race.
The event offers several categories based on age (as of December 31st):
- Adult Solo and Relay (17+ years): 400 m swim, 17 km bike, and 3 km run.
- Youth (15-16 years): 400 m swim, 5 km bike, and 3 km run.
- Tristar 3 (13-14 years): 306 m swim, 4 km bike, and 2.4 km run.
- Tristar 2 (11-12 years): 212 m swim, 3 km bike, and 1.8 km run.
- Tristar 1 (9-10 years): 165 m swim, 2 km bike, and 1.2 km run.
- Tristart (8 years): 70 m swim, 1 km bike, and 0.6 km run.
The adult relay option allows teams of two or three people to share the three disciplines. All participants undergo professional chip timing, and the swim portion is held in a pool rather than open water. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
